WoD Pet Rewards and Items

Warlords of Draenor has introduced some new (and potentially exciting) items for pet battlers across the Warcraft universe. Some are designed to help you level your pets while others are simply cosmetic in nature. They can also be obtained in more than one way.

While not really a reward or item, when you update your Pet Menagerie to level 2, you gain access to the Draenic Trap which increases your trap chance by 45% each time you fail to capture a pet. You will also gain an improved version of Revive Battle Pets, which will reduce the cooldown from 8 minutes to 4 minutes. However, this perk is only active while you are on Draenor.

For completing Mastering the Menagerie, your level 3 Pet Menagerie daily quest, you earn the Mark of Pet Mastery. Turning this in to your Menagerie’s Battle Pet Master, you earn a Big Bag of Pet Supplies. When opened, it generally contains some Pet Charms, which are the new pet battle currency, and one or two of the following items:

  • Aquatic Battle-Training Stone – Adds 1 level to a battle pet in the Aquatic family.
  • Beast Battle-Training Stone – Adds 1 level to a battle pet in the Beast family.
  • Critter Battle-Training Stone – Adds 1 level to a battle pet in the Critter family.
  • Dragonkin Battle-Training Stone – Adds 1 level to a battle pet in the Dragonkin family.

  • Magic Battle-Training Stone – Adds 1 level to a battle pet in the Magic family.
  • Mechanical Battle-Training Stone – Adds 1 level to a battle pet in the Mechanical family.
  • Undead Battle-Training Stone – Adds 1 level to a battle pet in the Undead family.
  • Battle Pet Bandages
  • Albino Chimeraling – Teaches you how to summon an Albino Chimaeraling.
  • Firewing – Teaches you how to summon Firewing.
  • Puddle Terror – Teaches you how to summon a Puddle Terror.
  • Spectral Bell – Teaches you how to summon a Ghastly Kid.
  • Sun Sproutling – Teaches you how to summon a Sun Sproutling.
  • Sunfire Kaliri – Teaches you how to summon a Sunfire Kaliri.
  • Weebomination – Teaches you how to summon a Weebomination.

There are also items that you can purchase from your Battle Pet Master at your Pet Menagerie. These items cost Pet Charms and is the only known way of using Pet Charms at the moment:

  • “Dapper Gentleman” Costume – Dresses your Perky Pug up in a gentleman’s costume. 5 Charges. Costs 1 Pet Charm.
  • “Little Princess” Costume – Dresses your Perky Pug up like a princess. 5 Charges. Costs 1 Pet Charm.
  • “Dread Pirate” Costume – Dresses your Perky Pug up like a dread pirate. 5 Charges. Costs 1 Pet Charm.

  • Flawless Battle-Training Stone – Adds 1 level to any battle pet. Costs 3 Pet Charms.
  • Magical Pet Biscuit – Doubles a targeted Companion Pet’s size for as long as it remains at its master’s side. 25 charges. Costs 5 Pet Charms.
  • Magical Mini-Treat – Halves a targeted Companion Pet’s size for as long as it remains at its master’s side. 25 charges. Costs 5 Pet Charms.
  • Lesser Pet Treat – Battle pet experience gained is increased by 25% for 1 hour. Costs 5 Pet Charms.

  • Pet Treat – Battle pet experience gained is increased by 50% for 1 hour. Costs 10 Pet Charms.
  • Marked Flawless Battle-Stone – Instantly upgrades any battle pet to Rare quality. Pets level 15 and greater lose up to two levels in the process. Costs 15 Pet Charms.

There are a few other items that you can find out in Draenor:

Rubber Duck – Play fetch with most companion pets. (Presumably this would not work with a pet like the Darkmoon Balloon, which is not a living being, but an inanimate object.)

You can obtain the Rubber Duck by catching one in Oily Abyssal Gulper schools of fish and Oily Sea Scorpion schools of fish. Both schools of fish can be found in the Spires of Arak.

Discarded Bone – Play fetch with most companion pets. (Presumably this would not work with a pet like the Darkmoon Balloon, which is not a living being, but an inanimate object.)

You can obtain the Discarded Bone in Grizzlemaw’s Bonepile, which is located near the Rare beast, Grizzlemaw.

A few of the new items do not seem to be implemented yet, as no one has been able to obtain them in the live version of WoD. They are:

Savage Safari Hat – This is an upgraded version of the regular Safari Hat, in that when you wear it, it increased your battle pet experience gained by 20% rather than the 10% gained from the Safari Hat.

Gloria’s Glorious Gliding Goodies – This item allows your grounded battle pets to take flight with you when you are flying. (Note: This probably hasn’t been implemented yet due to the fact that there is no flying currently allowed in Draenor. I would assume that once flying is allowed, this item will become available as well.)

For completing some of the new pet battle achievements, you are rewarded with pets:

For completing Draenor Safari, you will earn a Royal Peacock.

For completing So. Many. Pets., you will be rewarded with Stormwing.

For completing An Awfully Big Adventure, you will be rewarded with Trunks.
